GALLIPOLIS RIVER RECREATION PAGEANTS
Contestants should arrive at the Ariel at 8:15am ready for the pageant and to check in with pageant staff. Doors to the auditorium will open to the public at 8:40am. No dressing rooms will be available for contestants. They will be assigned seats with contestants in their age group.
Contestants will compete according to the grade they are in as of May 1of the year they are competing.
FIRECRACKER PAGEANTS
Junior Miss & Mr. Firecracker - Grades 4th & 5th
Little Miss & Mr. Firecracker - Grades 2nd & 3rd
Tiny Miss & Mr. Firecracker - Grades Kindergarten & 1st grade
CONTESTANT INFORMATION
All contestants must be residents of Gallia County, but they do not have to attend a school in Gallia County.
There is no entry fee for contestants.
All guests will need to purchase admission tickets. All seats are reserved seating. Visit the link below to purchase yours.
Contestants should wear a red, white, and/or blue outfit, or a Patriotic outfit and will be interviewed by our Emcee on stage. No bathing suits, please. Outfits should be age appropriate. No makeup is allowed in the Tiny and Little Miss categories. Junior Miss contestant's makeup may be light and age appropriate.
Winners are chosen based on personality and ability to answer questions by our Emcee.
Winners will receive a sash and crown. If there are more than 5 contestants in an age group, the 1st runner up will receive a crown and sash.
Our Kings and Queens are required to ride in the River Rec Parade, attend this year’s River Rec Festival for at least one day, and to return to the following year's pageant and crown their successors. We will provide a float for this year’s kings and queens only. Runners up may participate in the River Rec Parade but are responsible for their own registration and transportation. Winners may be in additional parades or attend different community events anywhere they like, at their own discretion. Winners are responsible for registering for additional parades and arranging their own transportation. Runners Up may register for the River Rec Parade by visiting the Gallia County Chamber of Commerce website at https://galliacounty.org/.
Winners are asked to wear a church-style outfit when making appearances or riding in parades.
To purchase guest tickets for the pageants in advance, click on the button below. Tickets are available for the Firecracker pageants and are a separate purchase from tickets for the Miss/Young Miss Gallipolis River Recreation Pageants. Pre-sale tickets must be purchased from the Ariel Opera House. Space is limited, so get yours early. If space is available on the day of the pageants, you may purchase them at the Ariel's ticket box office.
